Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association is starting a new 14-months project in March 2015. The initiative is supported by the Norway Financial Mechanism trough the Ministry of Justice and will realize pilot activities in the prisons in Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Sliven. The first meeting of the team took place on March 30, 2015 in the office of BFPA. A series of trainings for the staff and the persons serving sentence of "imprisonment" and detainees will be implemented, as well developing manuals and proposals for legislative changes aiming improving the access to prevention and care in the area of blood transmitted and sexual transmitted diseases.
Besides the team of BFPA we will rely on our partners from Hope against AIDS Foundation and undoubted capacity of prof. Radka Argirova, virologist, as well General Directorate “Execution of Sentences” (GDES) of Ministry of Justice. The first training on project will take place in April and will be for the staff of Plovdiv’s prison on health topics.
