Who and Why Needs Health Education?

ParticipantsSofia, April 28 2016

The team of BFPA and Nikoleta Popkostadinova, founder of the platform for sexuality education of teenagers on website loveguide.bg http://loveguide.bg/ got together with a group of young people at 28 April 2016 and had breakfast in Betahaus. The mutual idea on the importance of the need young people in Bulgaria to have access to a contemporary interactive, adequate and youth friendly information with the help of which to be able to take the right decisions connected with their sexual health.
The topics we discussed on are connected not only with Moundy Thursday, the different beliefs, traditions, religions around the world, personal beliefs ..., Chekhov, but also with the common sense.

BreakfastThe questions are open to think on:
Is there a need on health education for our children? Why hygiene, physical activity and feeding are in a row with the health? What are the differences in his and her body? What are the changes that happen to every teenager – physical, emotional, and hormonal? Who, where when and how is good to answer to the ‘inconvenient’ questions of our children and to talk with them? Why is important to overcome our discomfort on topics, connected with sex? What kinds of contraception exist and which one is the most appropriate for everyone? What happens when grown ups don’t know how to prevent themselves of sexually transmitted infections? What is reproductive health? What does it have infertility with this knowledge? Where are the borders of violence in relationships? Which information is reliable? Why it is important to know what is ‘human trafficking’...
All of us – teachers, parents, young people... – thinking together and individually, we could overcome the taboo to talk on the ‘shame’ topics and to find our true answers.
Because health is also quality of life.
