Ambassador Deyana Kostadinova, permanent representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations and other international institutions in Geneva, was elected for a co-chairperson of the Regional conference for reviewing of the implementation of the Programme of Action at the UN Conference on Population and Development. The event took place on October 1-2, 2018 in Geneva. Electing Bulgaria for a joint chair is an acknowledgment for the effort of the country including civil society organizations regarding policies for youth, social inclusion and human rights.
On October 1st Ambassador Kostadinova lead the discussion within the high level panel “Confirming the commitment towards UN’s Population and Development Programme of Action”. During the panel the Deputy-minister of Education and Science Denitza Sacheva made a statement dedicated to national policies and Bulgaria’s achievements in education, including inclusive education.
On October 2nd Ambassador Kostadinova lead the discussion within the third topical session “Inequalities, social inclusion and rights” in her function as a co-chairperson of the Regional conference for reviewing of the implementation of the Programme of Action at the UN Conference on Population and Development. Ambassador Kostadinova also participated in the event’s closing session, making a recapitulation of the two-day discussion.
